TYPE R CENTER CONSOLE NOTICE

If you have a JDM Type R center console, please include "Type R Center Console" in the Special Instructions box at checkout. Otherwise, you will receive a USDM Shift Boot Delete Plate.

The JDM Type R and USDM center consoles have different shift boot openings, so please also verify that you are ordering the correct version for your shifter assembly.

Clean up your interior with this custom DC5 RSX Shift Boot Delete Cover Plate. Precision-cut from durable 1/8" ABS plastic and professionally wrapped in red suede vinyl, this cover plate is designed for a simple, tool-free installation—just slide it into place.

IMPORTANT SHIFTER FITMENT/COMPATIBILITY NOTICE:

This version of the Shift Boot Delete Plate is designed specifically around the Hybrid Racing Short Shifter. If you are using an Acuity Short Shifter, you must purchase the Acuity-specific version of this product instead. Due to differences in shifter geometry, factory OEM shifter assemblies will require slight trimming of the opening for optimal clearance and operation or contact me for an oversized option specifically for OEM assemblies.

The Hybrid Racing and Acuity shifter assemblies position the shifter differently within the center console, resulting in different opening locations and clearance requirements. Purchasing the incorrect version may result in improper fitment or require significant modification of the plate.

Please verify which shifter assembly is installed in your vehicle before placing your order.

Important: The factory trim piece that retains the OEM shift boot must be present for installation. The Shift Boot Delete Plate is designed to be secured and retained by this trim piece. If the factory trim piece is missing, damaged, or modified, proper fitment and retention of the plate cannot be guaranteed.

As of June 4, 2026, the KV WORKZ decal previously included on the Shift Boot Delete Plates is no longer being installed. I am currently working on a new and improved decal design that will be offered in the future.

Orders are still being accepted and fulfilled as normal; however, please be aware that your plate will arrive without the KV WORKZ decal attached.

Due to the handmade nature of the manufacturing process, minor imperfections, slight variations, or small cosmetic inconsistencies may be present from piece to piece.

Because the suede vinyl is applied by hand, slight differences in material alignment, edge finishing, or surface appearance may be present. Rest assured, every plate is carefully finished, inspected, and test-fitted to ensure it is neat, functional, and meets my quality standards before being shipped.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Remove the factory shift boot from the center console opening.

Clean the mounting area and ensure there are no obstructions that could interfere with installation.

Align the Shift Boot Delete Plate with the center console opening.

Firmly slide the plate into place. The plate is intentionally designed with a tight tolerance and will require moderate pressure during installation.

Continue applying even pressure until the plate is fully seated and flush with the console.

INSTALLATION TIP

For easier installation, consider removing the center console trim piece from the vehicle before installing the Shift Boot Delete Plate. With the console piece removed, it is much easier to access the opening and apply the necessary pressure from multiple angles to fully seat the plate. This can make installation quicker and help ensure the plate is installed evenly and securely.

IMPORTANT:

• A tight fit is normal and expected.

• The plate is specifically designed this way to ensure a secure, rattle-free fit and to prevent movement during use.

• If you are using the factory OEM shifter assembly, there is sufficient clearance for the shifter to fully engage every gear as intended. Due to the tighter opening design, the shifter rod may make slight contact with the plate during operation. This is normal and does not affect shifter function or gear engagement.

• The opening of this plate has been intentionally designed to be as small as possible while still maintaining proper functionality for a cleaner appearance. This allows customers to trim or enlarge the opening as needed to suit their specific shifter setup and personal preference.

• Starting with a smaller opening provides greater flexibility, as material can always be removed for additional clearance. If the opening were manufactured larger from the start, there would be no practical way to reduce it later. For this reason, the design prioritizes a clean appearance while giving the customer the option to modify the plate as desired.

• The black suede vinyl is intended for interior use and should be cleaned gently. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaning products that may damage the suede finish.
